RE:What does a stick holder know about mining And you are so smart to have figured this out....all by yourself? What does it cost to mine a tonne of rock open pit versus underground? Do you have even a semblance of a thought re this?
Yes, there is a significant more material mined, however only the view and adjacent material needs be run through a mill, the remainder is waste. One of the geologists, goes around marking the rock pile even day or more fre as required, indicating to the shovel operator which rock is loaded to go to the plant and which to the waste dump.
For those of you that want to take the time, call your local quarry operator and ask for a quote for crushed stone. If they are asking more than 10$ a tonne I would be very surprised. This might give some of you, those with an open mind, why retiredgeo is so pleased that the continuing drill results show the potential for open pit mining of this deposit, at least at the start of any mining. Costs are low and cash flow can also start much quicker.
