Corporate vs Government PPA's

Corporate vs Government PPA's
In 2018, Northland had signed an agreement for power offtake with Taipower. But doing a corporate PPA in 2022 made all the difference with the economics.

"With the newly improved rate, the firm expects that it will not only improve the economics of the project but help secure non-recourse project-level debt financing and financial close later this year". Mike Crawley (Re: Hai Long Windfarm).

In the future, Errboe (Head of Europe Orsted) said he’d like the option to opt out of government-backed power contracts in favor of power purchase agreements with private companies.

Such
agreements helped competitors Engie and EDP invest in a £2 billion wind farm off the British coast last week.
