Measuring Success To my mind there is only one arbiter of success of any employee. Are they meeting the goals set out in their employment contract. In the implict contract between CZO managers and the owners of the company the only metric is; Have you supplied me with an accaptable rate of return on my investment? Everything else is noise.
The exact definition of meeting this goal will be diiferent for every investor. To my mind the answer is no you have not. Everybody on this forum agrees that there is potential here or you would not be here. The only point of contention is how to realize it.
Gilles is a below average CEO on any metric you care to name and there is a vast universe of executives who would do a better job delivering the returns we all expect. There is zero downside to sending the board a strong message that we the owners are out of patience with the status quo. Or we can all meet up here in 2024 and try agian.
