RE:RE:RE:Public Markets are scamsCompanies don't ultimately trade on fundamentals. They trade on supply and demand. People are irrational for all sorts of reasons. Look at ESG. You aren't doing the world any good by not buying a tobacco company. All shares have to be owned by someone at all times so you are just offering someone else the investment return you could have earned. 

In 2020-2021, it was the end of oil. In 2022, all of Europe was going to freeze over the winter. In 2023 it is the end of office REITs. In 2000-2002 it was the end of tech stocks and 2008-2010 was the end of banking and 2011-2012 was the first end of Europe, etc.

Investors have a tendency to overreact :-)
