RE:RE:~$320MM USD If this was a major oil conpany, they could wait for this cost recovery. But we both know offshore does not come online as quick as onshore. Hell, Apache/Suriname are still working towards a FID... and this don't include production wells which will take years to drill. Suriname will be lucky to see first oil by 2030!
When your two junior companies, it's not like the have time and money to wait for production wells to come online to recoup this money. Hence my whole point, $300MM investment to date that comes down to the next 1000ft. If they hit thick oil, I'm sure some other major IOC/NOC will buy in and wait the necessary time to recoup the costs. But if this well is a bust, hard to recover money if you don't produce no oil.
