RE:RE:RE:3D Presentation Yes back in the day Newmont had lots on thier mind and focused more on the trend to close con and refocus efforts elsewhere vs looking at the con deposit expansion that was around and below what they hand at con.
GPs mentor had it right in that he told GP where the best place to find gold was at or near an existing mine, which, given the high grade that con was, teeeked GP to get to where he is today and on the cusp of a significant project in and around con.
GP learned well, he knew what con represnted in potential and clearly coupled with the fact that newmont and others did little at the site and what's worse for the Newmont people is that they and others did little work directly below and around their existing lease for something like 30 or 40 years.... it should have been a trigger to Newmont back then as well.
when GP stepped in and gold terra was working the lease north of town and while doing well, he immediately ( actually he saw this long ago) grabed the opportunity and refocused on what his mentor taught him could be right at / near con.
loose lips sink ships ... he bit his tongue to get the deal with Newmont that he has and looks to me like they will / have seen the light .... would not surprise me that they are back in a bigger way very soon and before he finds the 5 billion dollar plus project that GP is comfortable is there.
it's going to be a Canadian mining story at or around con let alone what's 25 min north of town on this huge lease, Likely once in a lifetime opportunity for most.
yes it appears lots rests on this hole but it's really only the beginning of a bigger story for the area and yellowknifers and FN are on board with development. Which helps!
