RE:RE:USA Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) 2022 Re: Biotech and ChinaAs parallel news on Eli Lilly, Illinois federal judge Harry Leinenweber ruled today that Eli Lilly owes triple damages from last year's award after whistleblower Ronald Streck convinced a jury that the company violated the False Claims Act and short-changed Medicaid on rebate payments.
The case dates to 2014, when whistleblower Streck—a pharmacist and lawyer—sued Eli Lilly for allegedly launching retroactive price increases and failing to pay Medicaid rebates based on the higher prices.
So it is clear that Lilly's chief scientific and medical officer Daniel Skovronsky is trying to change the channel as he unsuccessfully tried to criticize the recently passed IRA and its position on small molecules. Good luck Daniel !
