AGM 2023Extremely pleased and satisfied with the 20th Anniversary Gamehost AGM! Small number of investors present but their share count was significant. The only prestigious member absent this year was David Will. His presence always emitted a feeling of foundational strength and confidence at the meetings and sometimes when he did speak he said little but whatever it was, it held a great deal of insightful significance.
Darcy Will provided the background on the past year as well as provided his projections as to where things stand at the present time and the present factors that could or will impact Gamehost's progress during the balance of the year. In his presentation he brought forward the basis, impact and number of NCIB purchases and cancellations. The upgrades to all three facilities during the pandemic were dicussed and their impact on attracting and pleasing customers in attendance. Questions were raised and discussed with the management team in respect to what and how Gamehost was attempting to attract customers and particularly younger customers to their venues. Darcy and Elston Noren updated us on those efforts. Craig Thomas and Darcy also brought us up-to-date on the financial implications to Gamehost as to the temporary 2% improvement to the commission margins for casinos by the AGLC. There were several shareholders present who questioned the dividend payouts and encouraged increasing the dividend as we move forward. Darcy brought forward that the dividends were closely monitored, and would continue to be closely monitored by the Board and management and that they would act accordingly for the benefit of Gamehost and the shareholders. A question was also raised about the possibility of an acquisition. The Alberta Pure Casinos purchase was raised and discussed and even though Gamehost is always attentive to the possibility of an acquisition, at the present time there doesn't appear to be any such possibilities.
I would like to add that I was very favourably impressed with the insightful, knowledgeable and interested shareholders who were in attendance this year. I finally got to meet Malx1 in person and was totally surprized by his youthfulness. From reading his posts on the board, I always assumed that he was an intelligent, informed, experienced and an older wise investor who shared his passion and wisdom with us. Well, instead he is a young man who possesses all the attributes I listed.
Gamehost completed a financially successful quarter and the team appears to be inspired by that and is prepared to continue in this directiion.
For my part, I feel very confident in Gamehost's direction and I'm better prepared to wait longer for that share price to grow and later on collect a larger dividend.
These are some of my own observations and if Malx1 or others in attendance want to add to my observations I hope they do.
