RE:Trades by House since 4/11/23Maybe they had problems kicking off the cement plug. I don't know, but it happens all of the time for a variety of reasons. Something that may cost $300,000 on land to resolve turns into millions on a deepwater well because of the much higher spreadsheet cost per day. And the deeper the depth, the longer it takes to resolve a given problem on any well. It must take them close to a day just for a one-way trip into or out of the hole.
What's encouraging is that the oyl sp bounced up near the close. I'm assuming that they resolved any problem that they might have had. We'll see how the sp behaves today. I have zero doubts that with the drilling team that are running the show that they will successfully drill this well. But at what cost? I think that is why investors are jittery. Anyway, as I've stated before, I hope that they drill the well to TD using only LWD, no more MDTs, run and cement casing to TD. The less time that the hole is open, the less chance of very costly hole instability problems.
