C’tait un secret de polichinelle que les rsultats du transporteur arien canadien pour le 1er trimestre seraient bons, aprs que les dirigeants eurent annonc qu’ils haussaient leurs prvisions pour l’anne 2023. Et ils ont t bons.
 
Les revenus ont atteint 4,887 millions $ nettement au-dessus de la prvision de Cameron Doerksen, analyste la Financire Banque Nationale, qui prvoyait 4,443 millions $, et de celle du consensus des analystes qui tait de 4,354 millions $. Il s’agit d’une hausse de 90 % sur les revenus de la mme priode l’anne dernire, et un rsultat 10 % plus lev qu’au premier trimestre 2019 avant que la pandmie de COVID-19 cloue au sol les transporteurs ariens.
 
Les bnfices avant intrts, impts et amortissement du 1er trimestre ont t de 411 millions $ surpassant largement la prvision de l’analyste de la Nationale qui se situait 220 millions $ et celle du consensus des analystes qui tablait sur 269 millions $. Air Canada termine le trimestre avec des liquidits de 10,5 milliards $, soit 700 millions de plus qu’ la fin du trimestre prcdent.
 
Les rservations demeurent solides, les ventes de billets l’avance tant de 5,3 milliards $ la fin du trimestre comparativement 4,1 milliards la fin du trimestre prcdent, note l’analyste. Cela procure la firme une bonne visibilit sur la demande d’ici la fin de l’anne, selon lui. La firme a galement gnr des flux de trsorerie libre de 987 millions $ durant le trimestre.
 
 
Cameron Doerksen maintient sa recommandation de Surperformance, ainsi que son cours cible de 32,00 $. Il prvoit que la demande pour le transport arien va demeurer forte et que la profitabilit et les flux de trsorerie vont continuer de s’amliorer au cours des de
