Not too many bright folks around....Not on this board and neither in the Canadian Oil patch. Both groups focusing on stuff that doesn't matter and NOT on the actual stuff that does. Just too many IndianJoe's, Maxwell "NotSoSmart" Schmoe's and OldLittleNagger's on both the Canaidan O&G scene and as foolish investors. I wish the folks in the Albertan O&G sector, meaning the Ceo's, were more like their counterparts in Texas. Those Texans REALLY know what to do, and how to manange when there's either a boom or a crisis. For which the latter is really crucial to make the appropriate adjustments if you want to survive, flourish & be one of the winners.
With the incoming NEW Ceo, i hope he's more capable of convincing both GMT & Riverstone that the way forward is NOT the status quo BUT for Pipestone to be part of a larger HammerHead entity. As is now, Pipestone will survive, but barely, just being content of being a zombie operation with no chance of becoming anything more. And that's the MAIN problem with these Canadian Ceo's, just too many idiots with that twisted, ineffective mentality. Keep the status Quo and don't change or evolve to fit the times.
Even this board has gone to the _rapper. Traffic is almost non-existant here and only The 3 Stooges Larry, Joe & Moe remain. Talking amongst themselves along with the infamous but static Mr. Brown, deeply submerged & delving in idiotic meaningless discussions. Getting absolutely nowhere, because they don''t know any better. So their useless contributions are more of a hinderance than anything else because it will lead folks who don't know any better down the wrong path. As far my contributions here are concerned, they will be limited until some material updates are made public by the company as to the direction of the company or some event happens.
My advice for folks who don't know wth to do here........is the folllowing. Don't expect energy prices to help out because they won't in any meaningful way. They will be kept in a very tight volatile range because of the proxy war being fought in the energy markets. One group wants $90 oil & $4 NG and the other wants $60 oil & $2 NG, and i'll let you guys figure out who wants what. The smart folks will know right away, as it's pretty obvioius which party wants which prices. So for all intents & purposes, investors should base themselves on $75 & $2.50/$3 NG oil for some time. Unless Putin uses tactical nukes, then ALL bets are off and pray to whatever God you beleive in as to what happens next.
Since $75 oil doesn't help out the Piper too much, as their crude oil out is non-existant, along with being more of a NGL & condy operation with some Gas. So everything hinges on NG prices for Pipestone. Since i don't expect NG prices to move up anytime soon and continue to believe they will be surpressed unitl either Russia is BK or Europe is on the road to recovery and inflation is under control. Which i don't expect until AFTER the 2024 US elections. So what happens to the Piper in the interim? Or any similar company like them? Nothing.......status Quo.
Folks have to understand that the BIG money in this sector (as well as the Piper!) HAS BEEN made, back when they hitb the lows in 2020 up until mid 2022. Unless you guys are here in these companies for the lucrative divvys, you shouldn't expect ANY meaningful appreciation or ROI from this point forward. From the middle of 2022 really. So why stay or buy any Canadian OG ep? Well, i can't speak for the stocks i'm not invested in, but for those that i am, like Pipe, Kelt & HH, there are valid reason too. The last being different from the other two and won't get into right now. But for Pipestone & Kelt, M&A is the only option left for folks/investors to make any coin here. For the reasons i've outlined above.
So for all our sakes, i hope cooler heads & common sense prevail and that dumb Canaidan attitude & logic is thrown completely out the window for something more viable & prodtiable for all involved. I STILL maintain Kelt & Pipestone are attractive targets for any larger entity and i just hope that for the latter, that GMT & Riverstone play it smart and keep the bad vultures like CNQ far away as possible.
