RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Plan BMarketsense....

Actually I am in the same boat.

I have put in an order for the IONIQ5 in terms of a refundable deposit.

Right now they only make them in South Korea at one factory.  The few that are shipped to Canada go primarily to Quebec and BC because there are also provincial incentives.

Hyundai is building a plant in Georgia that will be producing about 300K EVs starting in 1H 2025.  I am not expecting delivery until probably late 2025 and will probably get a 2026 model.  At that point they will be on the second or third generation for the IONIQ5.  They have already made improvements for the 2023.  By then there will be lots of experience from other drivers to examine before I have to make the final decision.  All the deposit does is put me into the delivery queue at no cost to me.  A win win as far as I am concerned.  In the meantime I will continue to drive my ICEs.

When I decided on the EV, I really didn't want one for a few years and so when they told me that I could make a refundable deposit on one but I wouldn't get one for a couple of years it met my criteria.  I fully expect that over the next couple of years there will be significant technological enhancements.
