RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Does anyone understand what Hecla's plans are for Rackla? There is a very small chance the vote won't pass. Even the contentious Sabina vote pulled in over 80% for a "yes". Why is that? Well, because if your junior doesn't have a whale or two (Sprott, etc.) to act as a bulwark against BS lowball offers, then you are left with a BoD recommending to vote yes and the institutional managers all vote in lockstep with the BoD like lemmings running over a cliff and the majority of retail are either ignorant or are just there for a flip and vote yes.
If the vote actually were to get shot down, ATAC would be pulled up over a quarter in an environment where gold is breaking all-time highs just on its previous history and merit alone without having to do one blessed thing. Just sit back and watch retail flock to gold stocks and you'd be glad we didn't sell out low. But, it will happen. We'll be stuck with Hecla laughing at us ignorant shareholders who agreed to give away Rackla for peanuts and (other than me) not even raising the red flag that they want to give even less than the paltry peanuts amount originally implied.
It's like me twisting your arm to sell me your dollar for a nickel and then pulling a fast one and saying, sorry I only have 4 cents instead, but that's OK isn't it?
Maybe I'm just being a crank, maybe everyone else enjoys having their pockets picked. Management keeps their jobs, Hecla robs us of our assets and the naive shareholders will fall all over themselves to vote yes to being taken advantage of. Happens far too often in these M&A scenarios.
