RE:RE:RE:RE:Why is the stock down?"In the short term, the market is a voting machine. In the long term, it is a discounting machine." -W. Buffet.
"Buy on rumour, sell on news." Anon.
These two quotes explain the price decline. In the short term, more people voted that they expected the price to fall, and sold, than the number that bought, simply because it had run up and the news then came out.
If you think the second quote is descriptively right, and others in the market believe it, then you can sell today and buy cheaper in the market tomorrow. That does not mean it is a wise strategy in terms of long term gains. It means you can make quick short term gains because "the market" broadly expects a sell off after news. That is it.
As comfort, simply look at the results. "The market" continues to discount our results simply because the results have been discounted for five years or so, once we started on the I/O road. In the end, the market will not be able to ignore the results. But the price will vary in the meantime.
