VLT.v announces successful lithium production trial With the projected increase in lithium demand in the upcoming years, potential producers that can innovate lithium extraction methods are poised to benefit. Volt Lithium (VLT.v VLTLF) is a step closer to becoming the first company in North America to produce lithium from oilfield brines having successfully completed the pilot production program on brines from its Rainbow Lake project.
The pilot demonstrated that VLT's unique direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology was able to yield lithium recoveries of 90% at concentrations from 34 mg/L up to 97% at concentrations of 120 mg/L with operating costs under CAD$4,000 per tonne.

With this, VLT now plans to establish a permanent pilot plant to further improve its DLE tech. VLT is also now preparing to conduct a preliminary economic assessment for Rainbow Lake and the company expects to be producing lithium from Rainbow Lake's oilfield brines in the second half of 2024.
