I'd always thought Alberta and NDP were mutually exlusive to tolerable but UCP leadership has a polarizing past where I think anticipated future vote pandering was seen. Our G&M reported discussions at the door that addressed those concerns and included vote UCP and we can get rid of her later.
In the end I think its a nod toward sanity and up now are the wildfires and relations with Ottawa
And Malx1 I feel for you but you do pay less tax than I and live in Splendour Sine Occasu so my sympathies only go so far ;)
But I do see a lot of problems when carbon taxes and environmental regulations are the result of the stories we tell ourselves of a future with an ever increasing population with ever increasing needs competing over ever increasing limiting resources.
There is a reason there is such a debate with contested visions of that coming reality because there are lots of possibilities where there are different visions and competing interest around getting "there"...wherever "there" is, and we have to deal with a reality created by decisions made by those who are responsible for those types of storied futures.
All we can do his hope to pay less or at least not more, and not be constrained, so I am totally with you there. I'm all for coping and trying to generate the best outcome I can for myself.
On the other side are the taxes I have to pay and the legal and regulatory framework that dictates how we as a society operate. It is just another fact I have to deal with
So the real thing for you is not to hope something happens but what will you Malx1 do when it does? I know you have that part all figured out ...and if it does not come at you quite as envisioned, you'll make the right decision for yourself when it happens....or at least that is as how I see you by what you write and signal
Oh I am still adding Source Rock Royalties as a real cheap way into O&G ...great monthly yield.
Not parking a ton of money ...still south of 10K shares and dollars, but I'm still learning here.
Sage, at this point and for the past while I've been "All-in" with GH.
There's no back-up plan.
Maybe bootleg wine.
