The private company that I have invested in has, as part of their development plan, use of AI to anticipate a grid failure or brownout and then ensure continuous energy to their clients without any interruption of power. For many companies even a momentary gap in electrical supply causes numerous problems with their computers and costly downtime.
Even elementary AI such as Amazon Alexa controls the lights and many things in our house which saves us money on our electricity bill.
While there are many good things about AI, I must admit that the power and capability that seems to coming is somewhat scary for an old F@rt like me particularly since I will be around to see it. When I look at my grandkids and try to imagine what kind of world they will be living in with AI (let alone the crushing debt that the current generations are leaving behind) I worry about them.
As long as they don't come out with a Skynet)))
they just don't call it skynet, and create situation where we want and demand it, just like covid vaccine, ESG, new wars, etc
