“Petrobras has started discussions with Unigel to analyze joint businesses involving the development of opportunities in the areas of fertilizers, green hydrogen and low carbon projects, the oil company informed this Tuesday morning.

The initiative is in line with the review of the strategic elements for Petrobras' Strategic Plan 2024-2028 (PE 2024-28), released to the market last Thursday.

The state-owned company and Unigel signed a non-binding Non Disclosure Agreement effective for two years.

Founded in 1966, Unigel is strategically located in Brazil, in the states of Bahia, Sergipe and So Paulo, and in Mexico. It has a leadership position in styrenics, acrylics and nitrogen fertilizers, consolidating itself as one of the largest chemical companies in Latin America and the largest manufacturer of nitrogen fertilizers in the country.”
