MOZ raises $45m US for 1.5% smelter royalty...NHK?
This would be a great way for us to raise some $ without diluting shares. "Marathon Gold Announces Royalty Acquisition by Franco-Nevada and Flow-Through Offering. TORONTO, June 08, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Marathon Gold Corporation (“Marathon” or the “Corporation”; TSX: MOZ) is pleased to announce the sale of an additional 1.5% net smelter returns royalty (“NSR”) on its Valentine Gold Project (“Valentine” or the “Project”) to Franco-Nevada Corporation (“Franco-Nevada”) for US$45 million, resulting in Franco-Nevada holding an aggregate 3.0% NSR on the Project." Hey Milo or any other poster here. Man these guys got $45 million for 1.5% smelter returns? That seems like pretty awesome to me. I realize that MOZ is farther along than NHK as far as development of their mine but I bet NHK can get a good bit of cash selling a similar royalty. Just a thought as I know our CEO has been asked to compare us to MOZ in the past. I am sure that NHK is exploring all option s when it come to raising more cash. Any comments?

@TonyLovesGold This shows how undervalued NHK truly is . FNV just paid MOZ $45 million US for 1 5.% net smelter returns royalty. This is what I am getting at. Our current US cap for NHK is $56 million US. So in other words FNV paid $11 million US less than our entire current US market cap for 1.5% of MOZ's production. That my friends shows you just how undervalued NHK truly is. Unreal...

@milocat excellent comparison-FNV probably overpaid because they knew they were going to be passive investors and wanted top notch management minding the store. We got that too! And we are in a country of laws as are they, the only difference being its a little warmer in NFLD in the winter and the infrastructure is better(but we are catching up fast). But 100% of us is way more gold than 1.5% of them, many times more I would suggest! My big holding in Mali sold an NSR to Osisko-helped us avoid a very dilutive financing in adverse market conditions and the proceeds are still funding our exploration efforts. Downside is that the Override is forever and will ultimately impact the TO value. But we are so undervalued that it really doesn't matter at this point. I mean if we sell an override and get taken out at 2.5 rather than 3 is that really materiel to shareholders currently holding paper at 60 cents? Besides, if we use to the proceeds to fund a extra program that finds 5% more gold everybody wins!

@TonyLovesGold Thought you would like this Milo. Yes as you said if your only own let's say 95% of your production but get some serious cash now then you can drill the F out of those 27 targets our CEO just said "warrant further" investigation. We will leave no stone unturned as far as any other nice deposit that has not been discovered. I think that it is worth what you give up as it let's you exploit every part of thr property before your either sell or produce...
