Northvolt

NorthvoltNorthvolt looks like a top contender for a CRE partnership. They are looking at possible production sites in Quebec and already supply batteries to Volvo, which owns Nova Bus. As indicated in the links below, Nova Bus has production facilities in Quebec and has been given a contract to supply 1,229 electric busses to Quebec.

A few excerpts from the linked articles:
A review of all provincial lobbyist registries shows Northvolt is only currently only in discussions with Quebec.

It will be up to two Nova Bus factories to manufacture them. The Saint-Franois-du-Lac plant, which has 350 employees, will be responsible for the construction of the chassis. The Saint-Eustache facility, which has 800 employees, will be responsible for the final assembly.
The two governments have included a stipulation requiring the buses be manufactured with 25 per cent Canadian acquired parts and that the final assembly be done here.

I am betting there are much better days ahead!
