LOL! You sound like the chronic gambler, my next bet hits the big time!!! Why not buy yourself some gear and go panning for gold... you never know... you could stumble on the next Klondike. You can pan for gold in any stream in BC if you use only a shovel and a gold pan, and you are not on/in a claim/lease, park, private property, reserve or First Nations land. See Recreational Hand Panning for more information.
A shovel and gold pan are the only tools allowed if…
- you are not on a claim, or
- you want to dig in, or within 3 metres, of the stream.
All legal prospecting or placer mining that is not on a claim is done under the rules for Recreational Hand Panning.
