Blackberry needs to change name!!I know many including the CEO john chen are emotionally attached to the name blackberry but that's exactly the problem. They don't understand the negative stima of blackberry name. If you honeslty go ask 10 random people about Blackberrry they will all sayd it's a dead phone company.
This is not just with random people but also in cybersecurity industry and even in car industry. The car industry knows QNX but they don't associate QNX with the name blackberry. This is why they are having hard time signing up for blackberry ivy. Car companies do not want to associate themselves with a antiquoted phone company. It can destroy their car and marketing if they even mention that blackberry ivy is in their car. QNX is different because poeple don't associate QNX with a dead phone company.
This should have happend 5-7 years ago but never too late. They are struggling with cyber security because of blackberry name and stigma. Blackberry Ivy is also now struggling. 3 years since development started and NOT a SINGLE car company signed up to use it except for some company in china and that too on a single model.
It's important that a product launch gets adapted quickly. That's where growth comes from. If not many adapters initially it can doom and fail a product, that's where blackberry ivy is headed.
Mark this post, if they don't change the name blackberry ivy to qnx autosense, the product will be written off 2-3 years from now like they did with Spark, Cylance, UEM, etc. These products aren't selling because they are failing with marketing and bad blackberry name stigma association.
