Artis Real Estate Investment Trust is an unincorporated closed-end REIT based in Canada. Artis REIT's portfolio comprises properties located in Central and Western Canada and select markets throughout the United States, including regions such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado, New York, and Wisconsin. The properties are divided into three categories: office, retail, and industrial. The industrial properties account for most of the portfolio, followed by the office properties and the retail properties.

RE:Insider purchasesI think it is entirely possible that margin was extended to make some of those purchases and that the falling stock price may have limited margin available to keep buying- even if the price was more attractive than ever. Same for us retail investors. Nobody has unlimited resources. 
Personally I would prefer that Artis is not bought out. The long term value is fantastic and selling for a premium to this crazy low price is less interesting than allowing interest rates to normalize and property values to recover. I believe the office market will eventually recover as well. We are social animals and I believe are more productive working in the company of our colleagues.
