If you are going to partner with a company it's nice to know that it's going to be around. Biotech is a long-term game. BTI has never been adequately capitalized and has a history of difficulty raising money. It has topped this off by going into debt. Then the worst biotech market in history. It has had frequent management changes and has never been able to advance a project to the clinic itself despite hopes of clinical trials long ago. BTI has never projected stability and confidence.
