Artis REIT's portfolio comprises properties located in Central and Western Canada and select markets throughout the United States, including regions such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado, New York, and Wisconsin. The properties are divided into three categories: office, retail, and industrial. The industrial properties account for most of the portfolio, followed by the office properties and the retail properties.

Manji could look smart if he times it well, but the past year showed us that he can easily get it wrong. Really it comes down to if Artis was very strong where the NCIB didn't need to run (traded at $12+) and had a solid balance sheet, then he picked on a very disliked REIT with the intention of becoming activist and having big returns, I can see that potentially working. But just buying public reits cause they own good properties hardly seems like it can generate outsized returns.
