Artis Real Estate Investment Trust is an unincorporated closed-end REIT based in Canada. Artis REIT's portfolio comprises properties located in Central and Western Canada and select markets throughout the United States, including regions such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado, New York, and Wisconsin. The properties are divided into three categories: office, retail, and industrial. The industrial properties account for most of the portfolio, followed by the office properties and the retail properties.

artis wasn't trading at the discount it was today to be fair. i think he is doing the right thing with buying back. doing the math on potential artis liquidity sources i have no concerns about this REIT and even significantly less after the large industrial purchase int he US today which implies significant value for Artis' industrial assets - some of which are brand new & coming online in 2023.

dream office was a storied reit not too long ago. just seeing how cycles work, i don't beleive in the demise of the office buildings and neither do most of us. real estate goes thru cycles and currently office is out of favor, made possible because of lockdown loving governments. several years ago they told us retail / malls were dead and now they're hotter than ever - expect the same for offices in the next few years due to conversions, population growth & lack of new builds.
