Artis Real Estate Investment Trust is an unincorporated closed-end REIT based in Canada. Artis REIT's portfolio comprises properties located in Central and Western Canada and select markets throughout the United States, including regions such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado, New York, and Wisconsin. The properties are divided into three categories: office, retail, and industrial. The industrial properties account for most of the portfolio, followed by the office properties and the retail properties.

I really do think Dream Office would make a very nice acquisition for Artis. I previously thought DAM and Artis/Sandpiper might buy Dream Office together and split all the physical real estate assets amongst themselves until DAM dumped their units in the SIB. It could have worked out better for Artis to receive Dream Office office real estate properties for their Dream Office units rather than selling the discounted Dream Office units in the public market. Samir could then proceed to sell the Dream Office real estate properties just like he is doing with Artis real estate properties. That was my theory anyway. I think it would have made sense however it doesn't unfortunately appear likely to happen anymore.
