RE:RE:RE:RE:Workhorse-Linamar-EXRO Ultimately I see the production cost of a coil driver being approximately the same as a regular inverter given similar manufacturing facilities. What EXRO offers is enhanced performance, which is important in certain market spaces such as commercial trucks and buses...vehicles that put on tons of miles each year, and which must stop and go frequently. The key criterion in this space is total cost of operation, where EXRO has an advantage due to its dual torque/speed profile.
You might have noticed that EXRO's named collaborators for its higher voltage CDs are mainly in the medium duty commercial segment. These include Vicinity, Sea Electric, Potentia (demonstrator delivery truck), the Brazil NDA (Eletra?), the European NDA motor supplier for buses/trucks (possibly), and the Linamar Class 3-6 commercial vehicle eaxle.
Vicinity included an almost identical slide in its recent presentation at the LDMicro Conference last month. Both Lightning Motors and Vicinity play in this space.
Given the relative lack of competition, and the superiority of the CD, I think many will choose the CD option. Just MO.
