RE:Whoomp there it isFor interest, I looked up the energy output of a standard solar panel, and the charge rate / maximum charge of a Tesla.
One (approx) 3 foot by 5 foot panel can do about 300 watts per hour ... I'm assuming that would be max output under bluebird skies. An average Tesla can charge at 11.5 kWatts per hour, to a max battery charge of 75/100 kWatts.
So it would take 11500/300 = ~39 panels to help out with one car. I suppose it's a start!
