RE:AI?In the very early days, after Sue joined Exro, the term "artificial intelligence" was used in reference to the coil driver. It's not clear who initiated it, but the term was not used for long and has not reappeared. AI uses software that attempts to emulate the pattern recognition capability of the human brain when scanning large quantities of data. AI "learns" by doing that. Regular software is prescriptive, it uses logic to carry out procedures and automate processes involving data, which is what I think is going on in the coil driver. It seems to me that the coil driver must sense whether or not the driver is accelerating, decelerating, or just cruising along and operates the motor to provide optimum efficiency or needed performance in each mode.
