So, a battery heater would certainly be able to dynamically keep the battery at the optimum temperature for discharging at the current rate required based on the demand at the moment. That's really not that difficult. The downside is that it further discharges the battery but then that is where optimization comes in. Computers are wonderful things.
On a side note, back in 2008 I was working up in Fort St John for Swanberg Trucking. My 2007 Sierra with the Duramax froze up overnight (yes it was plugged in). It was -40 or so that night, lead acid battery. The point is that I wouldn't have made it to your scenario to compete with the EV truck LOL
