One Possible Solution To The Ford Government's Mining Needs! Last week, I was in contact with Wayne Cheveldayoff, CCW's corporate communications representative. He confirmed to me that the company's bulk sampling facility is operational and is presently processing the 500 tonne, Granada Gold Mine, bulk sample.
It stands ready, as a functional, bulk milling and metal pouring operation!
The Ontario government has been touting the possibility of milling old mine tailings to remove all of its remaining valuable, residual mineralization.
The old mining statutory mining regime in Ontario required a very expensive, full mine and closure plan.
The good news on this is that the Ford Government has just amended the Mine Act to allow surface tailings to be mined without a closure plan and for the Minister to make decisions and grant exemptions.
It will become an enthusiastic ministerial action, rather than one made by a senior bureaucrat, who might be less willing to make the more timely, important decisions.
The TTL mill is ready to process the tailings, but the company is waiting on the Ford government to make their final decisions. The company is waiting for the regulations to be finalized, so it can see the details of what is needed and then submit its application for its Beaver and Castle tailings.
Nobody likes the waiting. But the profit potential of such a low cost approach to mining is a welcome change that should entice many new investors, once such important news, finally gets out!
The Ford government is strongly motivated to get the battery metals segment of the Ontario mining sector, moving as quickly as possible!
Competion for these resources is about to become, very fierce!
Other Canadian provincial and foreign governments are also in a race to gain, the best competive advantage!
The first ones out this starting block will get the most attention! The success of such a move would also be one of the best governmental mechanisms, to garner, more political favor!
Votes do count, to get re-elected!
Canada has a lot of internally generated, capital pools. But the greater world is a much larger and wealthier place! Canada also wants to gain access to much of that!
Why wait for the many needed years, to fully construct a new mine and mill, to gain access, to some of the required product?
Wouldn't it be quicker and smarter, to first extract the necessary mineralization from the many available, old mine tailings?
CCW already has access to many of these old mine tailings. (Wayne told me that there were more than 100 underground mines in the Cobalt camp and they all left tailings).
CCW already has an operational, bulk mining facility. So it can almost immediately, start a smaller scale, profit making operation.
A low cost mining and milling application, such as CCW plan may present, could be one of the best, first solutions, to the Ontario government's, battery metals problem!
CCW expects to prove that this kind of strategy, will indeed work!
Such a successful demonstration will also lead sooner, to a greater reward for their shareholders!
All the best! Java
