RE:RE:Not properly wiredCount me in.I started investing at the age of 18, i am now 62 so i have made hundred of these mistakes.
Being retired and not having a pension fund, i only invest in very solid and profitable company. But even so, every time there is a huge correction in the market and my stocks goes down with it, i feel the need to sell a portion of my portfolio to secure my capital.
WELL,BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART. Afew weeks/months later, the stocks i sold, are usually higher
then the price i sold them.
I always say to my best friend, i am my worst ennemy. To succeed, we need to be able to control
our emotions.Easier said than done.
I, like you added to my already outsized position in SU this morning.
Over the past few years, i try to go the other way. When i feel bad and some of what i believe are sound, good and very profitable company, i buy more.
Some will say,you are adding $$$ to a already bad position, you should never average down.
Well in my case, it as worked out very well.
Good luck to all and just like many have said on this board, this SU board is by far one of the few good one there is.
