Our oil transport by rail Ok let us assume all the pr and promises on the new/revamped rail line from Botswana will pan out eventually. But the assumptions are huge.
First the line would have to be massively strengthened to handle the heavy coal and oil shipments. Storage facilities would have to be built and maintained plus oil refinieries in Botswana and by the coast. These alone are a bigger undertaking then the rail issues.
Even Assuming the Namibians can get a few brigades of PLA worker brigades they won't come cheap and will take a few years. Not impossible but improbable in that the world is pulling out of oil. So this is still a very very long shot.
