why on earth would they sell? this mine will give them the opportunity to be independant from china for the upcoming decades! to put it bluntly, its the wet dream of every critical metal processing company of the world, 100% independance from china (and other unreliable partners)! 
we have most companies in the western world desperately trying to reduce their dependance on china as much as possible. most will not succeed and will have to keep living with a damocles sword hovering over them.
the "commodities war" has just started and tungsten is still on the sidelines.
the economic situation is china is worsening, big demographic problems, bloated retail estate sector ready to pop, huge youth unemployment above 20% (only major cities considered)...the emperor will try any means to divert from the real problems and blackmail the west.

Plansee are definitely too smart to give up their control and risk losing this supply. Their claws are deep in Lewis's back LOL
