f*** EV's.....f*** Tesla....f*** fund managers....f*** politicians....f*** renewables....f*** battery storage....f*** technology unless it involves getting bitumen out of the ground and into combustion engines.

I talked to a fellow at the lake the other day while we were unloading our kayaks who was quite proud of the fact that he didn't block off EV chargers with his F150 like some of his friends did for fun.  Proud man and a great guy.

He is a retired pipe fitter who said SUNCOR was the worst company he ever worked for.  He told me that SU's work force is poorly trained and completely unmotivated. My favourite quote from him about Suncor was: "a bunch of drunks and drug addicts who just look out for #1".  I wonder if that has anything to do with all of the deaths and poor operating results.

he's likely a contractor, i doubt SU staffed permanent full time pipe fitter as their corporate employee.
Which company doesn't treat contractors as schitt?

here is comment from a real ex-Suncor employee (not a pipe fitter or a janitor)

I tried to get into Suncor for YEARS. I remember one of the leaders there saying in an interview he was getting tired of seeing my name come across his desk. Fair enough - when I want something I can be relentless. And I really wanted this.

So when I finally got into Suncor nearly 4 years ago I felt like I had made it. Achieved that goal I had been working on for so long.

And it was a great experience. I worked with and learned from some of the most amazing, smarty pants, competent people I have ever come across. I am so thankful for this time and these people.

Today my time with Suncor came to an end. And while I’m sad to be leaving this organization and these amazing people - I’m so thankful for the experience and the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best in the biz.

Thank you to everyone that I had the pleasure of working with and interacting with over these last four years. You’re all amazing and I wish you all the best.

What I do know is that while today is a sad day, I’m also hopeful for the future and I’m pretty excited about everything that I’ll be able to bring to the table in my next role.
