It appears that Valeura is serious about the region; they even moved their office to Singapore. Not all the staff was willing to leave Calgary – ranking 7th (Geneva 8th) on 10 best cities in the world to live in but sometime sacrifices have to be made. I only hope company can sustain current production levels & add some new revenue streams either through optimization or exploration.

Unfortunately the Economist folks are intern geeks who rely on tailored govt data, and have never lived or done business in any of the cities they review except for a hand full of places where they may have grown up or gone to school.
Having been in many of the worlds top cities on multiple and frequent occasions often back to back its clear that anyone who beleives Geneva and Calgary are close or that Calgary even ranks in top 30 is on crack.
Theres a reason the world wealthy and productive from top countries like Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Qatar, Saudi, Dubai and others dont emmegrate to Canada let alone visit much haha. Its still 1960 in Canada and Calgary LOL only its half visibly ethnic now and crime is on par with USA.
