I bet all the banks bean counters

have sharpened their pencils and are doing the math....including TD and Scotiabank

if a company from outside Canada takes a run at LB....all the canadian banks will be kicking themselves with a missed opportunity to get assets in a safe and predictable market like the banking sector in Canada.....
