RE:RE:RE:RE:DRIP DRIP DRIP
This is what the press release stated about the new protocol :
narrowing of the patient population to focus on those with high-grade serous ovarian cancer, including high-grade peritoneal or fallopian tube cancer, or high-grade endometrioid cancer - a population in which preliminary efficacy has been observed thus far. Patient selection has also been refined to focus on those who are less heavily pretreated, with no more than one taxane failure and a maximum of eight prior cancer treatment regimens.
Those cancers are Dr. Winer's specialty. There are no extra tests or research. Just a matter of looking through the patient's medical history. This is what is done for every single patient anyway.
But according to the clinicaltrials.gov website the trial is not even open for recruitment yet.
As a reference, my wife never had a taxane failure and had 3 prior cancer treatment regimens. (A total of 19 infusions) So, after 1 taxane failure you would be moved to something else. To get to 8 treatment regimens would take quite a lot.
