Elbit Naval Systems - US Navy Task Force June 8, 2023

The task force responsible for U.S. 5th Fleet’s mine countermeasures mission welcomed a new commander during a change of command ceremony at the U.S. Navy base in Bahrain, June 8.

Capt. Robert Porter relieved Capt. Oscar Rojas as commander of Task Force 52 at the ceremony. Rojas began leading task force in March 2021.

“I look forward to taking command of this extraordinary mine countermeasures task force during this time of unparalleled innovation and change,” said Porter. “I am excited about the new systems and technologies coming to us and how we can best use them as force multipliers.”

Elbit Naval Systems recently demonstrated Seagull™ Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) Mine Countermeasures capability for US Navy Task Force 52 near Haifa, Israel.

led the delegation, which included multiple members of his Task Force and representatives from the United Kingdom Seagull's Mine Countermeasures.
Mine Hunting Capability Program includes the capability facilities for end-to-end mine hunting operations, including detection, classification, localization, identification, and neutralization of bottom, moored, and drifting sea mines.
Elbit Systems is working closely with its subsidiaries in order to bring the Seagull’s best-in-class USV capabilities worldwide.
