Speaking of strategic reviewsSomething positive (for a change) from Algonquin Power.
I recently posted on the AQN board:
Haven't got a clue how much of AQN's portfolio is renewable, nor do I care. IMHO all you need to know is that Jeff Smith of Starboard Value is running this show. You should read his letter to the B of D dated July 6.
You might also want to look into (and buy) Atlantica (AY- NYSE). AQN owns 43% or so of AY's 116 million shares. AY has been strategic reviewing since February. Given today's announcement from AQN, it's a foregone conclusion that AY is for sale. DYODD but as I understand it Atlantica trades at 9.5 or maybe 10 X EBITDA while Brookfield Renewables is 14+ X.
I've been burnt on a few strategic reviews that ended in a whimper. These stories today sure make me think I'm due to reap some well-deserved REWARDS for a change!!! Good luck.
