Athabasca Oil Corporation (AOC) is a Canadian energy company with a focused strategy on the development of thermal and light oil assets. AOC’s segments include Light Oil and Thermal Oil. The Thermal Oil segment includes the Company’s assets, liabilities and operating results for the exploration, development and production of bitumen from sand and carbonate rock formations located in the Athabasca region of Northern Alberta. I believe the one thing that ATH could do to bury its near-death history is to announce it is debt-free. I would even go as far as saying if they had to pay penalty interest to payout the outstanding debt that the market would give an immediate bump in SP.
It would also put the run on shorts which I believe have hurt ATH's SP advance over the past year and a half.
ATH will get there regardless but I think paying off debt and celebrating same publicly would really set the SP on fire.
