Your post is spot on so kudos to you.

Management probably lost 2-3 years with Covid and that's sometimes just how life works.

My hope is that 3-5 years from now I won't feel like a donkey.

I think Management knows better than anyone else that they need to ramp up in order to generate value for shareholders (which includes themselves).
