RE:RE:Safe and Sound Thanks, we all appreciate the considerations, we hope what looked ugly when we left .... somehow can get Better .... crews working butts off water bombers were going steady where / when they can..... unfortunately YK is near surrounded by three fires so our best hope for reduced smoke and breathing the city is for south winds ....one fire obviously closer than two other but regardless they all a serious threat and primarily what I think they had to pull the pin. One fire to the west seems to cross the main only hiway and could seriously isolate the community if the others advance.... it's an unbelievable situation when you have a town of our size and people packing what they can into cars and trucks ... like so many say .... we never thought it could happen to us as we watch other communities.around canada, NT and the world .. we manged to get out yesterday and thank god we packed extra fuel cause the line up that I passed at fort Prov NT fuel station was about two miles long .... in the end we are out ... many are and in process .....evac so far has been good with no incidents that I seen or know of ....but here we are, we wait to see....
and I doubt and drills get moved .... they should be in a clear area with little vegetation around.... the drill is safer there than in the Drillers Kam Lake yard
today could be game changer high wind gusts late this aft out of the west .... pushing things closer to YK .... this will be a very tought situation
