Competitive ProjectHochschild is a UK company with ops in Peru (mostly) and Brazil. I keep a tenth of an eye on them becuz they once had an interest in the Snip deposit in BC, now fully reverted to Skeena. Anyway, I stumbled upon a news story from Hochschild - they are trying to sell via a new Cdn holding company (Tiernan Gold) a high-altitude gold deposit in the Chilean Andes, the Volcan deposit.
Volcan has been on their books for close to a dozen years. They have dusted it off and announced a recently-completed Prelim. Economic Assessment. They see 3.8 million ounces of production over 14 years from a resource of 9.8 million oz. M & I. First 10 years would average 332,000 oz per year. Grade is .63 oz/t . This is seen as a heap leach operation handling 60,000 tonnes per day.
Capital cost is estimated at US$900 million.
Hochschild has engaged Canacrap to beat the bushes for victims. I think it'll be interesting to see how Troilus stacks up against this project
