RE:RE:A deluge of news distorts tradition in investors’ favour?Well put, Arctan. Thank you for placing my comments in proper context, and for generally keeping the discussion grounded.
Great Bear certainly did mark time for many months, releasing solid but not spectacular results in between its various strong price run-ups. And I suspect FDR is no different in terms of wanting to make sure a good headline number can be included in every batch.
The step-out exploration phase next month is sure to contain at least a few dud holes. Now the question is, has FDR already bought itself enough credibility to keep people waiting breathlessly, and buying more on any sign of a pullback? Price momentum is such a powerful force, especially when any smarter, better-capitalized investors feel comfortable with an intellectual justification for their initial gut reflexes.
And ultimately, let the bad news come with the good. We spoiled FDR investors will get at least two or three sets of such mixed results each month while a shareholder of our typical competitor is still waiting… and waiting… for their first bulletin – quite possibly their first for the entire quarter. Which stock would you rather own?
