RE:RE:RE:Wolfspeed to sell RF Business to Macom for 125 M.Thanks for the response Cavest...very interesting.
I did notice that the reason for Wolfspeed selling it's RF biz was to focus more
on their main biz of producing and developing expansion to their silicon carbide
power device and materials businesses.
I don't think the definitive aggreement between them has closed yet and again
I noticed that the proposed buyer, Macom Technology Solutions, appears to
be a leading supplier of semiconductor products.
This to me, is very reminicent of the very early days of Axe when back in 2007,
their main business was the software development of acceleration products for electromagnetic simulation and seismic data processing markets. Axe was also
collaborating with Nvidia in those days and they had a high regard for Axe's
software abilities in the deployment of GPUs to accelerate non-graphics software applications. In early 2007 Nvidia invested $2.9M in Acceleware.
Just a bit of early history that some people may not know about. Of course, all
this was way..yyy before the current RF and CTI days.
