RE:No Certifications Given Out for UL9540A and 1741 is Next ? PROVEN
METHODOLOGY for UL9540A Testing. Drawing from our history and tradition of safety, UL uses an
incremental approach used in other industries, from cell to
installation level, to determine the minimum testing needed to
prove product compliance.
Level Activities (4) 1) Cell Develop cell thermal runaway initiation
technique and characteristics including gas
composition.
2) Module Determine propagation behavior within
module and thermal energy release outside
of the module.
3) Unit Open test configuration of unit to unit
fire spread with heat release rate and gas
analysis to determine potential for explosion.
4) Installation Closed room test configuration of unit to unit
fire spread with fire mitigation equipment
Exro's news release of September 27, 2022 seems to suggest they passed Levels 1 & 2 of the above but although it was very wordy it does not appear to be specific. It does make reference to Phase 1 but what is Phase 1?
https://stockhouse.com/news/press-releases/2022/09/27/exro-technologies-energy-storage-system-demonstrates-industry-leading Their latest news release states that they have passed UL1973 and have advanced to the "Final Stage" of UL Certification. Again this is ambiguous because there is no clarity as to what is encompassed by 'UL Certification'. I'm not sure why they are clouding the issue this way. Just spit it out!
https://stockhouse.com/news/press-releases/2022/09/27/exro-technologies-energy-storage-system-demonstrates-industry-leading Is UL1741 the 'Final Phase' or maybe it is the other two levels of UL9540A? Why the mystery? I have tried both UL and Company IR but neither will clarify. I guess that just means "be patient and wait". Meanwhile........!??
