Your post reminded me of a question I had as a child being educated in a Catholic Elementary School. They talked about Moses going from Egypt to the "Promised Land" which was this fertile lush area which is now Irsael. I was thinking at the time - "but this is desert!!". I learned many years ago that there were trees there and they cut them down and the land became a desert. The same has happened elsewhere in history.
People can argue one way or the other about climate change and global warming and I must admit that I am not entriely convinced about that....BUT....The question in my mind is "what if it is really happening and what are the implications?"
When the vast majority of the world' population live very close to sea level, there is not enough money in the world to protect them from a rising sea level. This to me is a scary thought.
