So what happened to Danfoss?...the "ideal partner"
According to the preceding announcement, Vicinity was to use Danfoss's transmission, inverter and compliant motor in its Lightning bus, and accordingly issued a PO for 300 units.
Vicinity recently placed another PO with EXRO for 100 CDs/TSA motors for the bus.
One might conclude that the agreement with Danfoss has been superceded. However, Vicinity's August 2023 corporate presentation still identifies Danfoss as a supplier for the Lightning Bus (page 14). To quote: "• Danfoss Editron – supplies VMC with its drivetrain systems for use in the Vicinity Lightning™ EV bus"
And Vicinity's technical description of the Lightning includes a picture of a drivetrain that has the Danfoss logo on it. (see page 2)

So what hapened to Danfoss? As far as I know, Vicinity has not yet delivered a Lightning...certainly not 300 of them. And why does the Lightning with a coil driver still require a multispeed transmission? If it does?
(Not really looking for answers. Just some rhetorical questions to munch on. :))
